How to edit bank transactions in Xero.
It’s easy to search for the transactions you need to find in your bank account within Xero. Simply click on the name of the bank account you want to search
You’ll be taken directly to the Account Transactions screen where you will find the Search button.
Select this and now you can search for your transaction by either the description or contact name, an amount or the date.
If you want to remove and redo a transaction, simply clock the box alongside the account transaction and select “Remove & Redo”.
The transaction is now waiting in the Reconcile tab for you to redo. Check the box alongside the transaction and select the More dropdown button. Then unmark as Reconciled.
If you want to see more information about a particular transaction, drill into the line to open up a detailed view of that transaction. This will give you an Options drop down where you can remove and redo the transaction or you can reconcile or you can reconcile or unreconciled the transaction as needed.
Depending on the type of transaction, you may also be able to copy the transaction or send a remittance from the Options dropdown button.
If a transaction is a Spend or Receive Money item, you will be able to edit the transaction itself.
Choose Edit Transaction from the Options dropdown button and make the necessary changes to the transaction.
Invoices, bills and expense claims need to be edited at this source, including adding a payment directly to the invoice. bill or expense claim.
Making the best use of the search options will help you quickly find the transactions you’re after so you can make your corrections.
